Aarti Swamy, COO Program Executive, CIB Technology, Merchant Services at JPMorgan Chase & Co opened the Autumn instalment of the Businesswomen of New York Networking Group (BNYNG) with a discussion on the Gender Pay Gap. Drawing from a career spanning over 17 years, Aarti shared how her past experiences inspired her to shift not only the thinking of others, but how she thought about herself, to counteract the gender-based wage imbalance. She highlighted the importance of recognizing what you bring to the table and being your own best advocate.

Next on the agenda was a joint presentation from Rachel Lockner, Strategy and Innovation expert at Moody’s, and Suzanne Andrews, Director of Consulting at Cognizant. They asked the 45 women present, “What does a successful career journey look like?” Like all other journeys, one’s career ought to be a continuum of movement. They dissected the reasons why women feel “stuck” and shared the 3 keys to a successful journey: resiliency, recovery and reinvention.

BYNG is open to all professional women from various organizations across the New York area. It is an open space for career women to support other career women.
